Ratingen. When designing their living areas nearly half of all Germans tend towards an elegant country house style, attractive in its naturalness and comfort, and at the same time reminiscent of leisure and holiday. It is against this background that Keramag presented its new lifestyle range “Cassini” at the SHK Essen. This attractive complete range in “Mediterranean Country“ style offers an original use of space in the mid-price segment, which, through the organic design of the bathroom elements and the Mediterranean look of the wooden furniture, evokes a feeling of sun, sea and holiday.

The core of the extensive range is formed by the solid washbasins. Notable here is the recurring characteristic of a wide bevelled edge which is reminiscent of ornamental terracotta pots or antique ceramic bowls. Circular insert washbasins (without a tap hole bench) with a 46 cm diameter – in pure white for purists, with an ornamental relief design in the ceramic for romantics, or the “Carmino“ decorative glaze for lovers of strong, warm colours – remind one of traditional washbowls, yet combined with modern tap fittings they offer the convenience of contemporary sanitary technology. Also included in the range is a choice of a 60 cm or 68 cm wide washbasin with an especially deep bowl, which can be combined with a semi-pedestal or pedestal. Particularly suitable for small bathrooms and guest toilets is the 46 cm wide wall fountain. In addition, a hand rinse basin (40 cm) is also available for this purpose. A wide furniture washbasin (85 cm) with an unusual visual look provides ample space for bath accessories through the centrally placed, equally deep round bowl, and rounds off the range of bathroom elements available to individualists with an eye for design.

The WC and bidet, which are available in wall-mounted or floor standing versions, are also characterised by soft flowing natural lines. The wall-hung 6 litre wash-down toilet and the bidet present smooth exterior surfaces that are flush to the wall due to their concealed mounting. They are visually attractive and very easy to clean. The wash-down toilet also has a two-volume flushing system (3 or 6 litres). The toilet seat is removable and thus particularly easy to clean. It is also available with optional automatic closing.

All the sanitaryware is available exclusively in “alpine white“ – except for the insert washbasin with decorative glaze – and is offered with the “KeraTect” optional dirt-repellent surface finish.

Through the attractive combination of sanitaryware with a range of exclusively stained furniture, the integrated, authentic bathroom design in ”Mediterranean Country“ style is complete. The traditional character of the furniture is clearly apparent in the recessed doors and drawers as well as in the visible legs and solid handles. A total of five wall-hung vanity units in widths of 60 cm, 78 cm and 100 cm are available, which may be complemented by the appropriate bench. Space-saving and providing an exact fit under the washbasins, the benches may be pulled out easily when needed. All vanity units come complete with a pull-out with different sizes of compartments and are self-closing. They may be combined with attractive tall cabinets which offer ample storage room in their five compartments. The floor-standing “Vertiko” is equipped with four drawers and two fixed inserted shelves in the upper open storage space. The side-mounting cupboard is also practical with, again, four drawers or alternatively with a door and two shelves.

The range of furniture is rounded off with a high quality mirror element with lights. The element has two slim lights placed right and left and a shelf, as well as a slim line mirror, which can be used as a free-standing or wall-mounted mirror. The vanity cabinets, tall cabinets and side-mounting cupboards with handpicked, genuine oak veneer, and the mirror, benches and feet of solid oak, retain their natural, noble look through extensive staining and paint work.

Overall “Cassini“ offers a wide range of individual bathroom design possibilities, which can be combined to form a complete harmonised whole with Mediterranean charm. As regards relaxation, the new range easily matches the bathroom ambience of south European country houses and fincas.
