Frankfurt/Ratingen. It was a trade fair premiere at the ISH 2005 in Frankfurt for ‘Flushcontrol 500’, the brand-new electronic and non-touch Keramag urinal generation, that through intelligent technology, creates a system that is vandalism-proof and battery-operated, while also ensuring water reduction, economic efficiency and ease of installation.

 

Invisible from the outside, the integrated system is located behind the ceramic and works without electric power supply, using a water-saving 1-litre flush volume that fulfils the highest standards in hygiene. A multiparameter-sensor, which is situated away from the water passage at the waste suction piece, recognises when the urinal is being used. The standard fitted 1-litre siphon from Geberit allows flush volumes of up to 4 litres that can be set via the sensor. The pre-set factory setting may be changed on site without any difficulty. The optical diode-detector advises of the particular setting.

 

As a result of the long-standing experience by Keramag of the urinal sector for public and business sanitary washrooms, this new system technology offers the operators a whole range of advantages. For instance, the setting ‘Stadium Flushing’ will, during times of frequent usage, automatically operate flushes every minute after it detects 5 consecutive usages. The intelligent hygiene-flushing is able to monitor temporary operational disruptions or holiday periods, as it changes after a 2-day spell
of non-usage to a 7-day-frequence. Alternatively, the hygiene-flushing can be manually switched off instead. The 1-litre flush-volume leads without loss of cleanliness, hygiene and odour control to a definite reduction in water usage and saves costs. Should a larger flush volume be desired on occasions, it can be changed simply on the keypad.

 

An extensively pre-assembled unit ensures a fast and simple installation. In case of blocked drains an overflow-safety system stops activation of flushing. The commercial 6 V lithium battery has a life span of approximately three to four years based on 150 flushes per day. This innovative system is available in conjunction with the urinals of the series ‘Renova No. 1’ and ‘Aller’ with water supply from rear.
