press release from 06.03.2007

The new bathroom series ‘Xeno’ from Keramag, which premiered at the ISH 2007, impresses design purists through clear lines and minimalist forms that harmonize perfectly with the associated bathroom furniture range. The strong contrast of dark furniture and ceramic objects that seem to be floating creates interesting effects. From a technical point of view the flat wash basins are characterized by a missing overflow and various positioning possibilities for the taps.

Frankfurt/Ratingen. Keramag presented a new bathroom series called ‘Xeno’ at the ISH 2007 that meets the demanding requirements of total purists in terms of design. The most characteristic feature of the series is its entirely linear, minimalist form. Its angular, geometric wash basins are available in the sizes 60, 90 and 120 cm and are designed with a wide tap hole bench that can also be used as a shelf space area. The 120 cm wide wash basin can, supplied as a model with two tap holes, also be used as a practical double wash basin. The 90 and 120 cm versions are also offered without tap holes for wall mounted faucets. The clean linear design of the flat basins is emphasized by the omission of the overflow feature – special, non-closing waste valves and a special siphon are available to this end. A matching, wall hung WC with an equally minimal design and a toilet seat that is optionally available with soft-closing mechanism, round off the ceramic programme. All ceramic objects are furthermore available with the dirt-repellent ‘KeraTect’ glaze.

The associated bathroom furniture programme, in ‘Mandolino structure (décor)’, emphasizes the visual purist appeal of these ceramic objects. The dark furniture stands in stark contrast to the ‘White’ (Alpin) bathroom ceramics and creates interesting highlights. All wash basin models can be combined with matching vanity units and side cabinets that feature sliding shelves or drawers. Since the wash basin vanity units were designed without the siphon cut-out, these can now also be used as side cabinets. Also part of the furniture range is a wall-mounted tall cabinet with single door and four integrated glass shelves. The purist effect is enhanced by way of vanity units not being directly connected to the wash basins’ rear side, but by appearing open and floating. This is further strengthened through the side contours of the wash basins, which sit flush in one single line with the bathroom furniture. To complement the bathroom furnishing ‘Xeno’ the manufacturer recommends the use of mirror lighting elements from the ‘Vivano’ range, which match this design.
